The novel Lizoanca at the Age of Eleven by Doina Ruști was presented on RFI Romania, in an episode devoted to books that bring to light the uncomfortable themes of contemporary society: the loss of innocence, the violence hidden behind normality, and the mechanism by which a community turns its victim into a scapegoat.

The program, hosted by Roxana Brănișteanu and Constantin Șolga, presents books, authors, and ways of reading, continuing the spirit of the well-known series iCarte, iParte.

First published in 2009 and awarded the Ion Creangă Prize of the Romanian Academy, the novel Lizoanca at the Age of Eleven remains one of Doina Ruști’s most powerful books on collective guilt, stigmatization, and social truth. Translated into seven languages and included in university programs, among them that of the Doctoral School in Barcelona, the novel continues to be read as a radiography of communal violence and the fragility of childhood.
