Constanța has traditionally been a city touched by Balkanism, and is therefore a highly fitting place for the tour of Nas de bulgar to come to an end: the sea, the Casino, the persistent wind of Dobruja — all these are elements that recall Doina Ruști’s work.

Doina Ruști, interview on Antena 3 TV Constanța
Constanța is above all a space connected to ancient history, an area marked by ethnic and epic polytropism.
In the interview Doina Ruști gave to Antena 3 TV Constanța, she said that the novel Nas de bulgar is a book about identity, but also a love story.
Alina Gânju asked: Where does the impulse to write come from?
Doina Ruști: From passion. Everything comes from the pleasure of building a story.
Speaking about the current moment in literature, Doina Ruști said that many things have changed in our lives, that we are living through a global change, but what has remained immutable is the story itself and the respect we owe it.
Radio Romania Constanța broadcast an extensive interview with Doina Ruști about the novel Nas de bulgar, personal identity, and national identity.
Theme: Miraculous Occurrences

The event at the Constanța Casino was presented by FocusPress as “an exceptional literary event,” dedicated to the novel Nas de bulgar and the Five Stories Tour. The article highlights the encounter between contemporary Romanian literature, Balkan memory, and the emblematic space of the Constanța Casino.

CFM writes at length about the event at the Casino, after broadcasting a morning interview with Doina Ruști.
One of the stories prepared especially for the Constanța audience was “A Story with Hats,” inspired by the theme of the event: miraculous occurrences.
Once, in times long gone, there was a type of writing paper bearing the manufacturer’s emblem: three hats. For this reason, the paper was called tricapelă.
Not long ago, around 2010, a journalist from Constanța found a stack of this paper in a chest. Just as she was thinking of taking it to a museum, she suddenly felt the urge to write about mysterious things. All at once, she became interested in what lies hidden in houses, under attics, or in gardens.
The first story was one page long, and after she finished it, she realized that one of the three hats had vanished. Not only from that sheet, but from the entire stack.
But she did not waste time on this enigma. Instead, quite naturally, she felt like writing another story. This time she wrote three pages about a love from another age. She was overwhelmed, moved, and wanted nothing more than to write yet another story.
Meanwhile, another hat had disappeared from the letterhead. And, to avoid dragging this out unnecessarily, by the time she began the third story, the tricapelă paper had turned into ordinary paper.
The journalist wrote nothing more, and the blank sheets lived without glory. Her stories were lost.

Doina Ruști, Mircea Soclanu, Cazino
Soon afterward, the twins appeared — famous throughout the city: three fellows with golden hats. Rather short, identical, with very large eyes, they can still be seen today, especially around noon. They always follow the same route: from Eminescu College toward Grigorescu, where they stop and wait. And if anyone makes the mistake of speaking to them, there is no escape until they have told that person a story. They know only three stories, all three about a journalist in whose eyes the seeds of immortality sleep.

In Constanța, the Five Stories Tour came to an end in a space of powerful symbolic resonance: the Casino, a place of urban memory, passage, and encounters between worlds.
