Recently, the novelist Doina Ruști was among the invited authors at the Turin Book Fair, alongside writers such as Mircea Cărtărescu and Norman Manea. Her participation was connected to the Italian publication of her novel L’amino rosso, released in Florence by Barbes Editore, under the Nikita imprint.

The main event took place at the Romanian stand, where Doina Ruști presented the novel together with its translator, Roberto Merlo, professor at the University of Turin, and Marco Dotti, professor and columnist for La Repubblica.

In his remarks, Marco Dotti highlighted two essential qualities of the novel: “depth and the sweetness of narration.”

Sabina Trzan (editor), Roberto Merlo, and Marco Dotti spoke about the stylistic refinement of the book, emphasizing its narrative strength and the originality of its construction. Another topic that attracted particular interest was the internet, seen as both a phenomenon and a historical moment, as the novel encompasses the period of its emergence and the transformations it brought about.

During the fair, Doina Ruști took part in several events — round tables, public readings, and discussions — and gave interviews to TVR International and the Italian press.

The publication Il Libero featured an extensive article on the author, in a context that also included other Eastern European writers such as Georgi Gospodinov.
